Dr. Shah is a Board-Certified, well-known and respected physician who has been serving the Northern Virginia community for over 15 years.
Dr. Reepa Shah completed her undergraduate and medical school training at Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude from their prestigious 7-year combined degree program. She was then accepted into the NIH’s competitive Graduate Research Fellowship program, where she was instrumental in completing and publishing several outstanding studies, focusing on hormonal effects of estrogen and progesterone on insulin levels and insulin-like growth factors in women during adulthood and menopause. She then went on to complete her Obstetrics and Gynecologic surgical residency at George Washington University School of Medicine.
She has been Board-Certified since 2007, and maintains her surgical privileges at Virginia Hospital Center.
Dr. Shah had been practicing medicine in the Arlington county and Reston/Loudoun communities since 2005, where her excellent care has earned her much respect and accolades from her patients and peers. She was voted a Top Doc in Northern Virginia magazine several times, and was voted a “Doctor Most Recommended by their Peers” in The Washingtonian Magazine in both 2018 and 2019. In addition to delivering thousands of healthy babies, she has enjoyed caring for patients with high-risk obstetrical issues. Her other areas of interest include both Polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopausal issues, as well as chronic pelvic pain concerns including endometriosis and vascular issues causing pelvic pain such as pelvic congestion syndrome.
When not working hard and caring for her wonderful patients, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children and extended family. She also enjoys skiing, reading, and traveling.
